A collection of dolls is bringing steady crowds to The Museum of Russian Art. The ?A Thousand Nesting Dolls? exhibition will be on display through March 9. The show includes some of the earliest dolls ever created and shows the craft as it developed over the years with a large variety of styles and themes. The museum is located at 5500 Stevens Ave. in Minneapolis. It?s open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A pumpkin patch in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis is selling pumpkins that last forever, if you handle them with care. The Glass Pumpkin Patch event will be held at the FOCI Minnesota Center for Glass Arts Oct. 12-13 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be hundreds of pumpkins for sale, as well as demonstrations and opportunities to create your pumpkin color scheme. Surly preps for Darkness Day, adds Halloween pop-up

Surly Brewing goes all out every year to release its unique imperial stout, Darkness. Darkness Day is a free all-day party on Saturday, Oct. 5, starting at 11 a.m. and ending just before midnight. The event includes live music of the punk and metal genres, live tattooing, and timed taps all day long. Surly has transformed the pizza restaurant upstairs into the Sinister Circus, an October pop-up with fun menu additions and plenty of spooky d?cor.

Minnesota Zoo's Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular returns

While the animals at the Minnesota Zoo snooze, thousands of glowing jack-o-lanterns will bring visitors to walk the pumpkin trail. A total of 5,000 pumpkins are stacked from the treetops to the the trail floor and more than 100 are intricately carved by artists. The event runs from Sept. 28 through Nov. 2.

The scare returns to Valleyfair

Over the weekend, ValleyScare returned to Valleyfair in Shakopee as a separate ticketed event. The family-friendly event, Tricks & Treats, is back as well, starting Sept. 28th. ValleyScare has six haunted mazes and three scare zones. It will run on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. through Oct. 26th. Tricks & Treats is on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. through Oct. 27th.

South African circus performers bring show to MN

A very talented group of performers from South Africa are entertaining audiences at the Children?s Theatre Company. MOYA by Zip Zap Circus is an acrobatic, energetic show set to original South African pop music. The show will be at CTC through Oct. 20.
