The much-anticipated workweek warm up is here

After a chilly few weeks and the coldest calendar month in almost 8 years, we finally thaw out a little this week... thanks in large part to a slight shift in the jet stream.

Twin Cities experience coldest month in nearly 8 years

After 10 consecutive months with above average temperatures, we finally finish a month below average. January 2022 officially came in 5.5° below the 30-year climate average in the Twin Cities. While not even close to record cold for the month, it was one of the coldest months we've experienced in the last couple of decades.

Temperatures move below zero as dangerous cold sets in Minnesota

Another week and another shot of arctic air is on its way. We have certainly gotten used to the super cold air coming straight out of the Arctic Circle. But that doesn't make it any less dangerous, especially since this shot of cold will rival some of the coldest numbers we've seen all season.
