Police searching for two suspects from pair of Minneapolis robberies

Police are searching for two suspects in a pair of robberies early Wednesday morning near the University of Minnesota campus, according to a timely warning from the Department of Public safety.

In the first incident around 4:15 a.m., a university employee was robbed at knifepoint at a bus stop on Pleasant Street, giving the suspects their valuables and emerging unharmed.

Just about fifteen minutes later, a second robbery victim at the corner of 8th Street SE and 10th Avenue SE described similar circumstances and perpetrators, leading police to connect the two incidents.

The two men police are looking for were both described as black men standing 5 foot 7 inches tall, with the first wearing glasses and a hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect had short hair and a black tongue piercing, according to the report. They were last seen walking down 8th Street.

The University of Minnesota Police Department is investigating the first incident while the second incident is being pursued by Minneapolis police because it occurred off campus.
