The 20th annual May Day march brought hundreds to the streets of Minneapolis, with calls for justice, equality and protections for immigrant workers. FOX 9’s Leon Purvis spoke with those in attendance about what the event means to them.

Authorities say a school bus and U-haul truck were involved in a crash at about 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of Saint Anthony Parkway and Marshall Street NE in Minneapolis. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and the driver was not injured. The occupants of the U-haul truck, a man and woman, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The school bus caught fire as a result of the crash, which Minneapolis firefighters extinguished quickly.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) says it continues to work on rolling out a new electronic system for people to purchase hunting and fishing licenses. FOX 9 was onset of a demonstration of the new system provided by officials on Thursday.

A Richfield police officer who was injured during an exchange of gunfire that left one person dead early Wednesday morning was ceremoniously released from the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) on Thursday. Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt also spoke with FOX 9 following the event.
