A naked man believed to have taken LSD led police on a chase after plowing through a fence and two squad cars in Waukesha, Wis. on Tuesday.

According to Waukesha police, the man was driving a Ford Ranger pick-up truck down West Newhall Avenue around 7:45 p.m. when he plowed through a fence then hit the two parked squad cars, where officers had been meeting in a parking lot off the road.

“After ramming the officers, the driver backed up and fled the scene,” police said.  “Officers pursued and, at one point, the suspect lost control of his vehicle and spun out in traffic so that he was facing the on-coming squad car.”

The naked man then hit the side of an officer’s squad yet again before continuing to flee – “the suspect showed utter disregard for the safety of the officers and the community at large,” police said.

After leading police on a chase and attempting to turn into another parking lot, his pick-up truck rolled and was totaled. In a video posted by Waukesha Police Department, the naked suspect can be seen walking away from the damaged truck with his arms up.

Police said the man was believed to have taken LSD and was involved in a domestic dispute just prior to the incident. He was taken into custody and is currently hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

“We feel very fortunate that no officers were injured in this incident,” police said. “We also believe two Carroll College employees were incredibly lucky to escape with their lives as the truck was less than five seconds from a head-on collision with them in their 6-wheel ATV.”
