VIDEO: Deer rescued from Iowa flood

A group of people in Waterloo, Iowa rescued a terrified deer that had been caught in raging flood waters of the Cedar River on Saturday. One man pulled on a life jacket and jumped in the water to save the deer. Everyone else helped pull the deer to safety.

Officials are preparing for the worst flooding since 2008. National Weather Service forecasters say flooding is expected to reach its peak by Tuesday.

Nearby communities are donating several thousand filled sandbags to Cedar Rapids as the city prepares for flooding. Waterloo and Cedar Falls endured the crest of the Cedar River on Saturday evening, so extra sandbags were sent downriver.
