Bats are one of the most misunderstood mammals around Halloween and they need need your help more than ever. Their numbers are in decline in Minnesota and almost everywhere they're found.

On Saturday, the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge is taking part in a national effort to build 5,000 bat houses. The public is invited to participate in the activities, which include craft projects, games and bat presentations. It’s all free and the materials to make your bat house are provided.
