Two cars, including a Robbinsdale police squad car, are totaled after a driver rear-ended a police vehicle outside North Memorial Hospital, according to a Robbinsdale Police sergeant.

At about 8:25 p.m., a Robbinsdale police officer had parked his car on Oakdale Ave just outside the hospital.

The officer had just walked away from the car, when another vehicle hit the squad car from behind, forcing it up on the sidewalk.

The driver of the car was treated for minor injuries. Officers believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The case is still under investigation.
