Officer, driver injured after crash in St. James, Minn.

ST. JAMES, Minn. (FOX 9) - Two people were injured in a crash Friday night in St. James, Minnesota, including a police officer who was assisting another person.

According to the St. James Police Department, at about 10:57 p.m., a police officer was helping someone when his squad was struck head-on by a Ford F-150 pickup truck at 11th Street south of 10th Ave S.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Authorities said alcohol was a factor in the crash, and criminal charges are pending.

The crash is still under investigation.
