Minneapolis woman dies 8 weeks after downtown shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A Minneapolis woman died Saturday night, nearly two months after she was shot near the downtown intersection of 5th Street and Hennepin Avenue.
According to a previous report from Minneapolis police, officers working off-duty witnessed the shooting at 1:57 a.m. on Sept. 5. An officer immediately started chasing the armed suspect and was able to arrest him in a nearby parking lot.
Officers found two victims. A man with a gunshot wound to his back was taken to HCMC and survived, and 28-year-old Jenna Heilman was taken into surgery at HCMC with a gunshot wound to her hip.
