Gas leak halts light rail service between U.S. Bank Stadium, Target Field

Green and Blue Line light rail trains are back to normal after a gas leak temporarily shut them down Wednesday around 1 p.m. between U.S. Bank Stadium and Target Field stations in downtown Minneapolis.

The gas leak was reported near 5th Street by U.S. Bank Stadium and the Armory, according to Metro Transit. The Armory was evacuated as a precaution. Crews inspected the scene for the presence of natural gas and found none.

The investigation revealed that the gas was coming from an above ground pressure
relief valve in the area. CenterPoint Energy shut off the gas source and is currently draining the relief valve.
