12-year-old injured after standoff with police in Crosby, Minn.

A 12-year-old boy was transported to the hospital with a leg injury after he threatened to shoot himself and family members Tuesday evening in Crosby, Minnesota.

Authorities responded to a report of a 12-year-old with a gun threatening to harm himself and family around 6:40 p.m. at the 29000 block of State Highway 6. According to a press release, authorities were able to safely remove family members from the house.

Not long after, the boy came outside, pointing the gun at officers. He didn't comply with commands to drop the weapon, and at one point, he fired a shot in the air. He then went back inside and came back out with the weapons.

He then complied with orders to set the weapons on the ground. He was struck in the right leg with a less-lethal round, which allowed officers to take him into custody.
