Seasonable sunshine is in the forecast for Wednesday, but then a system will bring widespread rain to the region to end the work week.

Following a pleasant Monday and Tuesday, three late-week "storm machines" will produce rain throughout Minnesota as pooling moisture heads north from Hurricane Lidia.

A pretty seasonable day today after some patchy morning frost, cool sunshine will prevail as temps head for the middle 50s.

Sunny lower 50s with a crisp breeze for Monday, then frosty mornings with sunny mid to upper 50s for Tuesday and Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is possible in southern Minnesota by the end of the week.

Residents in the east metro may wake up to some frost on Monday.

Sunday will be a very seasonable autumn day, with mild temperatures in the high 50s for most of the metro area. It will be partly cloudy all day, with sun peaking through the clouds. The rest of the week will be very chilly with some frost ahead.

We are reaching peal fall colors, some areas in Minnesota are past their prime for leaf peeping but you still have some time if you want top drive up the North Shore to see some fall colors. Expect some frosty mornings in the next week, especially on Tuesday. Saturday high temperatures will be in the 50s, and the winds have died down since Friday.

FRIDAY! Blustery and cool as morning showers give way to pockets of clearing and an occasional spritz, but gusts to 30+ mph keep us in the chillier lower 50s for highs Friday. Western MN has a shot at patchy frost into Saturday morning, then hanging in the cool 50s for Saturday and Sunday.

More of a fall-style feel on Thursday as dew points drop into the 30s in the afternoon with temps hovering in the low 60s. It will be bright with some sunshine into the afternoon before some clouds arrive late, will be quite windy though with gusts to 35-plus mph likely.
