Corgi races return to Canterbury Park this weekend

Coming to Canterbury Park in Shakopee this weekend is some extreme horse skijoring. The sport involves a person on skis behind pulled by a horse. And when there's a break in the action on Saturday, there will be a different type of race taking place on the snow — corgi and dachshund races. FOX 9's Shayne Wells has that story.

Horse racing returns to the Shakopee racetrack this weekend — with a twist. The horses will be pulling people on skis through a series of snow obstacles. Horse racing season begins at Canterbury Park

They're off to the races! The live racing season at Canterbury Park in Shakopee begins Wednesday night. There will be races four days a week: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. This summer racing season will also feature the popular corgi races, English bulldog races, basset hound races, as well as extreme race day with camels, ostriches and zebras.
