With the federal government now in a partial shutdown centered in part around funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said on Wednesday that President Trump so far has had “no contact” with Democratic lawmakers in an effort to make a deal. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office on Wednesday said it has filed two Touhy demands for evidence held by the federal government in the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, and the shooting of Julio Cesar Sosa-Celiz in north Minneapolis. So far, Mary Moriarty says her office has gotten no cooperation from federal authorities.
