US Bank Stadium hiring thousands at 3-day job fair

MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - A three-day job fair at the Minneapolis Convention Center hopes to fill thousands of jobs at U.S. Bank Stadium before the new home of the Vikings opens in July. Stadium operator SMG, the Minnesota Vikings, Aramark and the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority will be meeting with applicants from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 through Thursday, April 28.

Vikings games will require up to 3,000 workers for food service,  bartending, security, retail, cleaning and guest services.

The first scheduled event at U.S. Bank Stadium is a Wednesday, Aug. 3 International Cup soccer match between Chelsea F.C. and A.C. Milan. The new stadium will also host two concerts – Luke Bryan on Aug. 19 and Metallica on Aug. 20 – before the Vikings take the field. The first Vikings game as U.S. Bank Stadium is a preseason matchup with the San Diego Chargers on Aug. 28, with the first regular season home game falling on a Sunday night (Sept. 18) against the Green Bay Packers. Staff shortage at Target Field

The company that operates Target Field concessions, Delaware North Sports Service, has reportedly struggled to find enough workers from Minnesota to staff Twins home games. Despite holding job fairs, Delaware North hasn’t found enough part-time employees in the Twin Cities, which forced the company to bus-in about 80 of its Milwaukee and Green Bay, Wis. workers for a series against the Los Angeles Angels.
