Top teacher: Becky Olson of Somerset High School

SOMERSET, Wis. (FOX 9) - FOX 9 is honoring educators as part of its annual Top Teacher award campaign.

For the fifth Top Teacher award this year, FOX 9 honored art teacher Becky Olson of Somerset High School in Somerset, Wisconsin.

Olson was nominated by her friend and former coworker Jeanne Germain, who says Olson routinely goes above and beyond for her students as an art teacher and dedication to the theater department.

"She regularly cooks breakfast for her first hour students," wrote Germain. "She offers rides home after play practice for students without transportation, so they can still participate in drama. She writes extra parts for the school plays, so everyone who wants to participate has a role."

As a FOX 9 Top Teacher, Olson's school receives a $1,000 check from Royal Credit Union. Olson also receives a Subway sandwich party and a Top Teacher award.
