Star Tribune: Super Bowl LIVE security firm replaced

The firm providing security at Super Bowl LIVE in Minneapolis was replaced earlier this week according to a report from the Star Tribune.

EPG Security Group was replaced with G4S earlier this week due to insufficient background checks, according to the Star Tribune.

Both the Super Bowl Host Committee and EPG Security were vague when Fox 9 reached out for comment.

“Safety and security is and always has been our top priority,” said Super Bowl Host Committee spokeswoman Andrea Mokros. “We don’t comment on the security measures in place except to say that all efforts are part of an integrated, multilayered partnership with all levels of law enforcement. We are confident that the security measures in place are appropriate and effective.”

“Due to the nature of our work, and the security services we provide, we are not at liberty to comment on changing security strategies and assignments,” EPG Security said in a statement. “EPG has a strong track record and excellent reputation for providing high-quality security services for multiple national events and local venues.”
