Service dogs train at MSP Airport Saturday

Part of MSP went to the dogs Saturday morning.

Can Do Canines held a practice session at the airport. Service dogs and other assistance dogs in training went through security screenings and boarded a mock flight. The goal is to get the dogs comfortable with the ins and outs of flying so when they have to board a plane for real they will be ready.

“Flying itself is stressful but then having a dog attached to you, so being able to practice and really make sure that they know what's going on first, really helps make it easy,” Can Do Canines’ Puppy Program Instructor Kaity McGinn said.

Can Do Canines hopes the service dogs will be ready to fly within the next year.
