Mother duck leads ducklings through Fridley elementary school

North Park Elementary School in Fridley has gone to the birds!

Or the ducks at least.

Students at North Park Elementary School got to witness quite the parade on the Friday before Mother's Day, according to Columbia Heights Public School officials.

A duck had laid her eggs in the enclosed courtyard of the school.

But on Friday, her little hatchlings were ready for the big journey out of the nest.

Under the watchful eyes of an honor guard of elementary students, the mother duck led  her seven little ducklings out of the courtyard and through the school out to a brave, new world.
