(KMSP) - The Minnesota Poison Control System is warning residents about a dangerous trend involving laundry detergent pods.
According to the agency, the Tide Pod Challenge started as a joke in which people would eat the detergent packet.
"Even if the entire pod is not swallowed, ingesting just a small amount of the concentrated detergent can cause effects such as burns inside or around the mouth, nausea, or breathing problems," the agency wrote on Twitter.
