Minneapolis, St. Paul declare snow emergencies

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Minneapolis and St. Paul both declared a Snow Emergency Sunday, with parking restrictions going into effect at 9 p.m. tonight.

MINNEAPOLIS SNOW EMERGENCY RULES
Snow emergency rules will go into effect in Minneapolis at 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Day 1: Do not park on EITHER side of a Snow Emergency route until 8 a.m., or the street is fully plowed.
Day 2: Do not park on the EVEN numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 p.m., or that side of the street is fully plowed, or on EITHER side of a parkway until 8 p.m., or the parkway is fully plowed.
Day 3: Do not park on the ODD numbered side of a non-Snow Emergency route until 8 p.m., or that side of the street is fully plowed.

ST. PAUL SNOW EMERGENCY RULES
Beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, 2/24/2019, all NIGHT PLOW ROUTES will be plowed. Night Plow Routes include all of downtown and streets with signs posted that say "NIGHT PLOW ROUTE" and "NIGHT PLOW ROUTE-THIS SIDE OF STREET."
Vehicles which are not moved from Night Plow Routes by 9 p.m. 2/24/19 will be ticketed and towed.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, 2/25/2019, all DAY PLOW ROUTES will be plowed. If the street is not marked as a “Night Plow Route,” it is considered a Day Plow Route.
Vehicles which are not moved from Day Plow Routes by 8 a.m. 2/25/19, will be ticketed and towed.
A Snow Emergency lasts 96 hours from when it takes effect at 9 p.m. Parking is banned until streets are plowed full width.
