Jeep driver dies after hitting deer, rolling into another vehicle in western Wisconsin

A driver died after his Jeep hit some deer and rolled into another vehicle in western Wisconsin Friday morning.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. on County Road F in the Town of Black Brook. According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling north on County Road F struck two deer, causing them to lose control and roll the vehicle.

The Jeep rolled into the southbound lane, striking and rolling over the top of a 1982 Mazda Rx7 that was traveling south. Both vehicles continued traveling in their initial directions before eventually came to rest in the roadway.

The driver of the Jeep was killed in the crash. The driver of the Mazda was taken to a nearby hospital and eventually airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

The crash remains under investigation.
