Driver hospitalized after collision with semi near Hudson bridge

(KMSP) - A Wisconsin man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a semi tractor-trailer sent his car into the median on Saturday.

To avoid stopped traffic on the Hudson Bridge, the Ohio semi driver switched lanes, colliding with Douglas Tronrud's car and sending both into the median.

Tronrud's car became pinned on its side between the semi and the median.

Troopers on the scene broke the back window of Tronrud's car, removing him before he was taken to the hospital.

The accident is still under investigation.
