Deer responsible for 'buglary' at Willmar care center

A deer, not a burglar, was responsible for a bloody break-in at an adult care center in Willmar, Minnesota. According to the police report, the incident at Bethesda care center at 901 Willmar Avenue SE "appeared to be a bungling burglar with blood everywhere and nothing taken."

Police quickly found their culprit in a room near an exit. A young deer was struggling to move on a tile floor that was covered in blood. The bleeding had stopped by the time officers arrived, and it did not appear to be seriously injured. An officer used a chair to push the deer out of the building through an open door.

The incident, classified as criminal damage to property, was reported at 9:29 a.m. Saturday. The report doesn’t specify how the deer got into the building.
