Crossroads Center Mall in St. Cloud evacuated

Police evacuated the Crossroads Center Mall in St. Cloud, Minn., after putting the mall on lockdown due to a report of men walking into the mall with a gun, according to the Waite Park Police Chief. The lockdown has been lifted.

At 6:19 p.m., St. Cloud Police responded to assist Waite Park Police Department with a gun complaint at the mall.

According to preliminary reports, a man and woman were arguing outside the mall by the food court. During the argument, two men approached the couple. They did not know the men. One of the men, lifted his shirt and showed the couple he had a gun in the waistband of his pants.

The man did not point the gun at the couple or threaten them.

The two men were last seen going into the food court in the mall. As a precautionary measure, police put the mall on lockdown and searched for the two men. They did not find the suspects inside.

There are no reports of injuries. There were no shots fired or any incidents reported inside the mall, according to Chief Bentrud.

In September, a man stabbed 10 people at the Crossroads Center Mall. He was later shot and killed by an off-duty police officer.

Chief Bentrud says the mall will be open for normal business hours on Friday.
