Becoming a State Fair vendor: Easier said than done
FALCON HEIGHTS, Minn. (KMSP) - They're the places we get out fix, when once a year millions of people descend on the fairgrounds to sample everything under the sun that can be fried, dipped or poured, but how exactly does one become a vendor at the Great Minnesota Get-Together?
It takes a lot more work than you might think, with many vendors reporting wait times of up to 10 years before being let in.
At the fried olive stand, three generations have worked for 11 years to get into the fair, saying the trick is to offer something new and different that will stick out to organizers.
And no matter what they're selling, every vendor has likely spent years working toward the first day at their first fair, which is a memory they'll not soon forget.
