4th Minnesota child dies of influenza

A fourth Minnesota child has died of influenza since late September.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, there were 33 influenza hospitalizations in the past week ending Jan. 3, a significant drop since last week's 77. In total, there have been 944 this influenza season. Central Minnesota accounted for 85 percent of this week's hospitalizations. MDH still classifies the flu as geographically "widespread."
