Minnesota weather: Onward and upward from cloudy, rainy April

It's onward and upward for our weather as we head into the first week of May. We could all use a little something to look forward to after the month we just went through.

The month of May in Minnesota will start off on a cooler and cloudy note, after quite the rainy Saturday.

Some areas across Minnesota have already seen over an inch of rain, and we?re not done yet. Rain showers linger into Sunday morning and early afternoon with highs remaining below average in the upper 40s. We?ll begin to dry things out by Sunday evening.

The high Thursday will be around 50 in the Twin Cities. Looking ahead, 60 degrees is possible Friday but clouds and showers are likely through the weekend.

After another shot of cold air this week, it feels like we may never break away from our frozen temperatures. However, as cold as it has felt over the last several weeks, there are signs that this may be it for frozen temps…at least in the Twin Cities.
