The Minnesota DNR on Tuesday stocked the fish pond at the Minnesota State Fair with fish ahead of the opening of the fair on Thursday.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources fatally shot a black bear police had been tracking as it moved through a residential area of north Minneapolis on Sunday morning. Around 10 a.m. Sunday, a Minneapolis Police spokesperson said officers were monitoring the bear, which had been wandering around north Minneapolis, and were working with the Department of Natural Resources.

People who haven't removed their fish houses from lakes in Minnesota should do so soon as the deadline is approaching for inland waters, the Minnesota DNR said at a news conference on Thursday.

This is the time of year people may start to see fawns all alone in wooded areas but the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is urging people to leave them alone. The DNR has gotten an influx of calls from people believing the young deer are abandoned but their mom is coming back.

The Minnesota DNR has made all-terrain track chairs available for use at five State Parks throughout Minnesota. The chairs allow visitors with mobility issues to explore trails and other areas that may have been inaccessible to them in the past. There is no charge to use the chairs.
