Zimmer: Adrian Peterson is "ahead of schedule"

Adrian Peterson was seen running off to the side at Winter Park on Tuesday.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer says Peterson is on his normal routine and this wasn’t the first time he’s ran since his injury. “He’s doing good. He’s probably ahead of schedule, I guess, I don’t know. “

Zimmer went on to say he and his team are focused on Thursday’s game against Dallas.

Peterson was injured during a game against the Packers in September. He had a successful surgery on his knee for a meniscus tear a few days after.

It’s unclear exactly how long Peterson will be out for. ESPN's Ben Goessling reported the running back is aiming for a mid-December return.
