Students in St. Anthony, Minnesota raised funds to help train a service dog that will one day assist a veteran in need.

At St. Charles School, a preschool through eighth grade Catholic school, students helped purchase a a Labrador puppy to donate to Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors, an organization that trains dogs to help veterans re-enter civilian life.

The school's "Charge to Serve" group raised the money to purchase Charger the puppy with the help of a DJ who donated his time and services for school dances. This way, students could save their money for a charitable act.

To raise money for Charger's fees, the school sold raffle tickets for chances to select his registered name. All submissions had to be in honor of a veteran, past or present.
