Stepfather shoots stepson trying to break into home
RUTLEDGE, Minn. (KMSP) - A man is in critical condition after his stepfather shot him early Thursday morning, according to the Pine County Sheriff's Office.
Around 12:03 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a report of a man, the property owner's 30-year-old son, trying to break into a home in Rutledge, Minnesota. Deputies were still on their way when they learned the 59-year-old shot the 30-year-old after he got into the home.
The 30-year-old suspect was shot in the stomach area. He was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.
Officials released the stepfather after interviewing him.
The case is still under investigation.
