Legislative auditor encouraged by Univ. of Minn. research reform

It has been a year since the University of Minnesota promised reforms that would  better protect people  who are recruited for research studies.

Minnesota's legislative auditor said he's encouraged by the reforms made so far, but told lawmakers there needs to be continued oversight to make sure the U follows through with its plan to cultivate a “culture of ethics.”

Changes were put in place in response to a Fox 9 investigation and other outside reviews involving the case of a psychiatric patient who died during a drug trial.
