Hennepin Co. declines to file charges against several U of M football players

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (KMSP) - The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced it will not file any charges in a case investigated and submitted by Minneapolis Police against several U of M football players.
The county attorney’s office says it’s declining to file any charges because of insufficient, admissible evidence for prosecutors to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that either force was used or that the victim was physically helpless as defined by law in the sexual encounter.
None of the players were arrested in connection to the alleged assault.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office says it will not comment further on the case.
