Candy, replica BB gun, brass knuckles cited in Super America incident

Police in St. Cloud, Minn. said an 18-year-old from Coon Rapids threatened a Super America clerk with a replica BB gun after attempting to shoplift food and candy early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the gas station on the 700 block of East St. Germain at 2:48 a.m. after Nicholas Orin Blake and Jordan Justine Eng, both from Coon Rapids, swiped food, then left the store. When a clerk confronted them, Blake allegedly waived around a replica BB gun from his waistband, dropped the food and told the clerk he would return.

They left the store in a vehicle and officers stopped them at 9th Avenue and 1st Street S. -- the gun, a baggie of weed and 23-year-old Justin Alexander Philpot with brass knuckles inside.

Blake and Eng were taken to the Benton County Jail where Blake was held on terroristic threats and firearm possession and Eng cited for misdemeanor theft. Philpot was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and taken to the Stearns County Jail.
