12-year-old bicyclist hit by distracted driver in Andover, Minn.

Two bicyclists were seriously injured after they were hit by a car in Andover, Minn. Friday night. 

Jayden Peterman, 12, and John Cederberg, 51, were biking on the shoulder of the road near the intersection of 133rd Avenue and Thrush Street when they were hit by a distracted driver. 

Peterman flew up and over the driver's car and his helmet smashed into pieces, his family told Fox 9. He suffered a pelvic bone fracture and may require surgery. 

Cederberg suffered a concussion. Peterman's 11-year-old sister, Chelsi, was also biking with them, but was not hit. 

The incident is currently under under investigation.
