MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Sunday is shaping up to be a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine and temperatures close to 80 degrees.

Local perspective:
Sunshine will dominate most of Sunday, with only a few high clouds possible later in the day.
Highs will top off near 79 degrees, very close to Saturday's peak of just barely 80 in the Twin Cities, where most areas stayed in the upper 70s. Northwest winds will be light at five to 10 mph, making it a much more comfortable day than Saturday.
Overnight tonight, northeastern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin could see some lower 40s as clouds stream in for parts of the state.
What's next:
Some areas may wake up to slightly milder temperatures heading into Monday.
Tuesday could bring a few scattered thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon and into the evening hours, though most of the area is expected to stay dry for most of the day. The chance of storms remains on the low side.
Wednesday and Thursday bring sunshine back, with Thursday marking the first day of the Minnesota State Fair.
Temperatures should be around 62 degrees at the fair opening and climb to 82 degrees during the day.
Warm and dry conditions are expected to continue through the end of the week, with highs reaching 83 on Friday and 80 forecast for Saturday.
