At its board meeting Tuesday, 48 league officials voted 31-17 in favor of making boys volleyball a sport. But MSHSL bylaws require a two-thirds vote to pass, which means they needed 32 votes for approval. Meaning boys volleyball came up one vote short of getting that approval.

Rob Gronkowski and his brothers showed up at Hopkins High School on Monday and challenged the girls basketball team to a shooting contest. Gronk hit a half-court shot but a Hopkins junior Kelly Boyle matched him, sinking her shot. The Gronkowski brothers then gave the school $15,000 to support girls athletics at the school.
