Police officers, civilians injured after gunman opens fire at Colorado Planned Parenthood
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KMSP) - Three people are dead, including one police officer, and several others are injured after a gunman opened fire at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, Colo. Friday afternoon. The gunman is now in custody, according to the Associated Press.
The officer killed has been identified as a member of the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs Police Department, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Five police officers and four civilians were also injured shot, according to the Associated Press. They are reported to be in good condition.
Planned Parenthood issued a statement in response to the incident, stating they did not yet know the motives of the gunman or whether the organization was the target of the attack.
Police are continuing to investigate the unspecified items the gunman both brought into the building with him and left outside, the Associated Press reported.
