Chanhassen City Council allows liquor sales at Paisley Park during Super Bowl

The Chanhassen City Council voted Monday to allow alcohol sales at Paisley Park during the Super Bowl.

The council approved an ordinance allowing for liquor sales at the Prince Museum from Jan. 29 through Feb. 4 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m., with the recommendation of limiting the number of guests to 500 per night.

Since Prince passed away over a year ago, the musician's studio has seen more than 200,000 visitors. Expecting more tourists soon, the museum decided to push for the right to serve alcohol during the Super Bowl.

Last month, the public was invited to tell the Chanhassen City Council how they feel about the move. The Prince museum said it probably won't have a private event every night that week, but it is planning for cocktail parties anyway.
