Wolves snap 15-game skid, Williams sets franchise scoring record

Minnesota sports were in complete disarray Tuesday evening. Sometimes, disarray can be a good thing, and in this case, it involved the Timberwolves snapping their painful 15-game skid.

In a 110-101 victory over the Pacers in Indianapolis, Wolves point guard Mo Williams tallied 52 points, a franchise single-game record and more points than any NBA player in a single game this season. Kevin Love and Corey Brewer most recently held that franchise record for most points in a game at 51, and Williams broke it with a pair of free throws.

The Pacers, coming off a loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, (the team that used the Wolves to end a 17-game losing streak of their own) were without center Roy Hibbert after he was ejected with a flagrant-2 foul in the third quarter with 10 points on 4 of 12 shooting, 8 boards and 1 block.

The Wolves are now 5-31 as they launch into what will be from here on out an undefeated season...!

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Wild (18-18-5) lost 2-7 to the Pittsburgh Penguins and are expected to miss the playoffs.

Also of note, Gopher men's basketball is getting trounced by Iowa.
