Adrian Peterson suffers torn meniscus in win over Packers
MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) - Adrian Peterson suffered a torn meniscus during Sunday night's win over the Green Bay Packers, head coach Mike Zimmer confirmed Monday.
"We are going through the evaluation process," Zimmer said. "Going through all the options."
Peterson was helped off the field by trainers after suffering a knee injury Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers. Peterson was injured with 3:32 remaining in the third quarter, following a 5-yard run – his longest rush of the game.
“His heel got kind of planted, and then a guy hit him from the side," Zimmer said.
Zimmer joked that he himself has a torn meniscus, but still plans to show up in Carolina.
It’s been a slow start to 2016 for Adrian Peterson. After gaining just 31 yards on 19 carries in Week 1 against Tennessee, Peterson gained only 19 yards on 12 carries against the Packers.
