Adrian Peterson says thank you to Vikings fans

Former Vikings runningback Adrian Peterson is saying thank you to all his fans as he prepares to join his new team, the New Orleans Saints.

Last month, Peterson signed a two-year deal worth $7 million with the Saints, according to reports.

Peterson tweeted out a short audio clip, showing his love for Vikings nation.

"As I embark on this new journey, I just want to take this time to thank all my Vikings fans who have been supportive for a decade plus," he said. "You all have been the greatest fans anyone could ask for and I truly appreciate all the love and support throughout the years. Also, I'd like to thank the Wilf family and the Vikings organization for such a great opportunity. I'm truly blessed and forever indebted. It was a great journey and thank you again."

Peterson was with the Vikings for 10 seasons, but sat out much of last season with a torn meniscus. He is the Vikings' all-time leading rusher with 11,747 yards and 97 touchdowns.
