Shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured in Cedar-Riverside

One person died and two others were injured in a shooting Friday night in Minneapolis.

According to Minneapolis police, just before midnight, officers responded to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of Cedar Avenue. Before they arrived, officers learned that an ambulance was flagged down on the 2100 block of Riverside Avenue. Two gunshot victims were in a car, one of whom was dead.

The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Abdiwasa Mohamed Farah.

Paramedics transported the injured person to hospital. Authorities believe the two were connected to the Cedar Avenue shooting.

Shortly after, police learned that another person arrived to the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds from the same incident. The victims include a 17-year-old boy, a 21-year-old man and a 31-year-old man.
