Long-term lane reduction on I-35W near Lino Lakes starts Wednesday

Drivers in the northern Twin Cities metro can expect delays with a long-term lane reduction going into effect next week, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Northbound I-35W between half a mile south of Freeway Drive and I-35 in Lino Lakes will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, May 1 at 7 a.m. The lane restriction is expected to last until early November.

The lane reduction is due to a resurfacing project and construction of the new northbound I-35W bridge over I-35E.

MnDOT officials say drivers should expect delays and backups.
