Ex-Packers coach Mike McCarthy allegedly involved in incident at stepson's basketball game

A formal complaint has been filed against former Green Bay Backers head coach Mike McCarthy over an incident involving referees at his stepson’s basketball game Tuesday night, FOX 11 in Green Bay, Wisconsin is reporting.

McCarthy’s stepson plays for Norte Dame Academy, which ended its season with a loss to Pulaski High School by one point in the regional high school boys’ basketball game.

McCarthy allegedly berated officials following the conclusion of the game. Security footage obtained by FOX 11 showed the referees being escorted out of the gym with a man, confirmed to be McCarthy, following behind.

The referees filed a formal complaint about the incident with the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. The WIAA says those complaints are confidential.

In a statement, Notre Dame Academy Athletic Director Steph Mathu said the school is looking further into the situation.

"We will continue to stress the importance of sportsmanship and respect to our students, parents, fans, and community members," Mathu said.
