While many are complaining about this winter’s heavy snowfall, others are urging residents to just enjoy it while it’s here.

FOX 9 viewer Sandy Terrell even took the time to make a list of all the great things we can do in the winter.

Number one on the list is taking photos of the scenery – a perfect thing to do at Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis.

We weren’t the only ones out for some winter photography; two Minnesota sisters were showing their California guests what makes this season shine.

“It feels like we should get a Christmas tree out because there’s so much snow and we don’t have any snow in San Diego,” Dan Lamm said. “It’s been a lot of fun.”

The group has also checked off a few other items on the “embrace the snow” list.

“I’ve gone sledding,” said Jessica Christy of Rochester, Minn.

There are even a few activities to add to the list.

Kara Greshwalk suggested that running should be added to the list.

“I don’t have a gym membership, I’m back to school in grad school, so this is my gym; I have to do this,” she said. “If it keeps you inside, I think you’ll feel more down about it. You have to embrace it and get the right clothing.”

Some are enjoying the frozen landscape at a slower pace with a winter walk.

“This is one of our big things, we wanted to see the frozen falls here,” said Tom Ferry of Minneapolis.

However, not everyone feels like embracing the cold.

“This is traumatic and I’ve been here for four years – there’s no getting used to this,” said Mar-Shon Witt of California.

After spending the day outside in the cold, another listed item comes to mind: getting cozy indoors.
