On the heels of the biopic "A Complete Unknown" which chronicled his early years in Minnesota, Bob Dylan has scheduled his first tour stop in Minnesota in more than six years.

Bob Dylan's new tour stops

What we know:

Dylan recently added three stops in the Midwest to his ongoing "Rough and Rowdy Ways" tour.

Dylan is scheduled to play in Mankato on April 4 and Green Bay on April 6. He also added a stop in Wichita, Kansas, on March 29.

In Mankato, he will perform at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center. Tickets for the Mankato show go on sale starting Feb. 1. (Note: Dylan's website lists the on-sale date as Feb. 1 but Ticketmaster has all tickets – both presale and general public – starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 31.)

Dig deeper:

Even at the age of 83, Dylan has continued touring consistently in the United States and beyond. However, despite the rampant touring, the stop in April will mark Dylan's first performance in his home state since 2019.

His last stop in 2019 was also in Mankato. His last show in the Twin Cities was 2017 at the Xcel Energy Center.

It's been over a decade since Dylan played in Minneapolis, the city where he became "Bob Dylan." In November 2014, Dylan played three nights at the Orpheum Theater – a venue which he used to own.

By the numbers:

The tour stop comes on the heels of Dylan's biopic "A Complete Unknown" hitting theaters in December. The movie follows Dylan's early years as an artist, leading up to his controversial performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.

The movie grossed $74 million worldwide, according to The Numbers.

"A Complete Unknown" has been nominated for eight Academy Awards. Timothée Chalamet, who plays Bob Dylan, received a nomination for Best Actor, while Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton were nominated for their supporting roles. The film also received Oscar nominations in costume design, directing, best picture, sound, and adapted screen play categories.

The 97th Academy Awards will take place on March 2, 2025.
