A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until midnight in Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

In the midst of our much cooler more fall-like pattern, a one-day heat wave will bring us briefly back to summer... 

September is wrapping up and the weather across the U.S. could not be more different. A very early season storm is beginning across the northern Rockies that could drop a record amount of snow for the month across the Northwest. Meanwhile, nearly 2 dozen states could set record highs in the coming days in the east.  And Minnesota will likely get a taste of both extremes.

The fall colors are ramping up, but on this day in 1942, an early season snow dumped as much as 9 inches of snow on parts of Minnesota. So when do we "usually" get our first fall snow?

The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-3 tornado touched down in the Town of Wheaton in western Wisconsin Tuesday night, causing extensive damage in the area.

Tuesday's storms brought some hail and damaging winds to the greater Twin Cities metro.

A Tornado Watch has been issued in parts of Minnesota, which includes the greater Twin Cities metro area.

Tornado warnings were issued Saturday afternoon as storms move through central Minnesota.
